Henan Spicy Soup: A Bold and Warming Breakfast Classic

Henan Spicy Soup, known as "hulatang" in Chinese, is a famous breakfast dish from Henan Province. It is a staple of the region's morning food culture and has a history of over a hundred years. The name "hulatang" combines "hu" (pepper) and "la" (spicy), reflecting its bold, peppery flavor. It is said to have originated during the Ming Dynasty and was created by a royal chef for Emperor Wanli. Today, it is a beloved breakfast item across Henan and beyond.
